What adhesive should I use on acrylic sheet?

In most cases, clear silicon can be used to adhere to a flat surface, do not use any glue that generated heat as this will mark and warp the sheet.

Can I polish the edge of acrylic?

Yes, but this can be laborious, as we use specialist equipment, we would recommend we did this for you.

How do I clean acrylic sheet?

Warm, soapy water is recommended, but in some instances, household furniture polish can be used.

What thickness would you recommend for acrylic mirror?

Acrylic mirror isn’t as rigid as glass mirror so if it isn’t fitted completely flat there will be distortion. For larger panels, we would recommend 5mm but this would still need to be fitted flat.

Is acrylic as clear as glass?

Yes, acrylic is completely clear.

Can you use acrylic behind cookers?

We wouldn’t recommend this as residual heat could melt the acrylic.

What thickness should I use for splashbacks?

We would recommend 5mm.

What is the difference between cast and extruded sheet?

For everyday use there isn’t much difference, this is just how the sheet is made.

Can I cut and drill acrylic?

Everyday diy woodworking tools can be used cut and drill acrylic, as long as care is taken this is quite simple.

What is the difference between acrylic, polycarbonate and petg?

Acrylic is Light and strong and available in a number of colours. Clear acrylic has very good light transmission, which is equal to glass. Polycarbonate is heavier but virtually unbreakable, but being softer it does scratch easier. Petg has similar properties to polycarbonate but is food safe.

What is the difference between Perspex, Acrylic and Plexiglass?

Acrylic is the plastic sheet whereas Perspex and Plexiglas are brand names of acrylic sheet (a bit like calling a vacuum a Hoover)
