Product description

This red 3mm fluorescent acrylic sheet is designed for maximum visual impact. The fluorescent pigment delivers a vivid surface colour and a distinctive glowing edge effect — intensifying further under UV and blacklight conditions. Manufactured from 100% recycled acrylic and fully recyclable at end of life, it delivers vivid fluorescent performance with a reduced environmental footprint.

The fluorescent red pigment runs through the full 3mm sheet thickness, ensuring cut edges and machined features maintain the same high-intensity colour. Laser cutting produces particularly clean, glowing edges that enhance the fluorescent effect. The material offers the same impact resistance, lightweight handling, and workability as standard cast acrylic — up to 17 times stronger than glass at approximately half the weight.

A first choice for high-visibility signage, safety markers, attention-grabbing retail displays, and creative installations. Fluorescent acrylic is also popular in art, set design, nightclub and bar interiors, and themed environments where UV-reactive materials create dramatic visual effects. Compatible with laser cutting, CNC routing, drilling, and thermoforming. Available cut to size.

Properties

Optical & Aesthetic

  • Colour consistency: The red pigment runs through the full 3mm thickness — cut edges display the same colour as the surface.
  • Surface finish: High-gloss polish on both faces for a professional appearance without post-processing.
  • UV stability: Resistant to yellowing and colour fade from prolonged UV exposure.

Mechanical Properties

  • Impact resistance: Up to 17 times more impact-resistant than glass. Fractures into dull-edged pieces rather than dangerous shards.
  • Weight: Approximately half the weight of equivalent glass — easier to transport, handle, and install.
  • Weather resistance: Performs well outdoors without warping, cracking, or degrading.

Workability

  • Machinable: Can be cut, drilled, routed, and polished. Compatible with laser cutting and CNC routing.
  • Thermoformable: Can be heated and bent for curved components using a strip heater or oven.
  • Bondable: Joins cleanly with solvent-based acrylic adhesives (Tensol, Extru-Fix).

Specification

  • Material: Cast acrylic (PMMA)
  • Thickness: 3mm
  • Fire rating: Self-extinguishing, classified to BS 476
  • Density: Approximately 1.19 g/cm³ — significantly lighter than glass (2.5 g/cm³)

Usage

Sustainable Signage & Displays

  • Recycled red acrylic allows businesses to meet sustainability targets without compromising on visual quality. Particularly suited to public sector projects with sustainable procurement requirements.
  • Vibrant colour saturation and consistent pigmentation make recycled acrylic indistinguishable from virgin material in display applications.

Interior Design & Architecture

  • Splashbacks, feature panels, glazing, and screening — all standard acrylic applications are fully achievable with recycled material. UV-stable and weather-resistant for indoor and outdoor use.

Craft & Fabrication

  • Fully compatible with laser cutting, CNC routing, and thermoforming. Being 100% recyclable at end of life supports a circular approach to plastic use.
