Polyethylene terephthalate glycol, more usually known as PETG, is a cost-effective, durable and strong alternative to acrylic that features unique characteristics that make it preferable for high strength display units and impact-resistant glazing. It can be easily pressure formed as well as heat-bent and vacuumed due to the low forming temperatures which makes it extremely popular for 3D printing applications. Generally, PETG plastic is a food safe material and can be used for food and drink containers while also being fully recyclable. Ideal for installations that may experience damage such as machine guards, trays and polycarbonate roofing, it has a much higher damage resistance than acrylic, while still being easy to fabricate and although usually clear, it can be coloured during processing to perfectly suit any project.
